Tourism students learn from the past

28/03/2014

Tourism students and teachers outside the Shepherd’s Hut.

As part of their studies in Wine Tourism, students recently attended the Stanthorpe Museum. Curator Lorene Long outlined note-worthy aspects of the Granite Belt's history in Ardmore House, a building of historical significance, shifted to the museum site. Students were then able to interact with the many displays, learning stories of our past to potentially share with tourists. Of interest was the shepherd’s hut, the telephone exchange building and the displays about the early days of school life on the Granite Belt.
