Spirit of Anzac

Students from Stanthorpe State High School shared the unforgettable experience of attending the Spirit of Anzac Centenary Experience in Toowoomba. The travelling exhibition shares the experiences of participants in World War I. From photos, letters and personal accounts to uniforms, weapons and battlefield reports, this interactive journey began with the call-up to fight and continued through North Africa and Gallipoli and on to Europe. Equipped with headphones and iPod, the students could move at their own pace, hearing accounts, music and battlefield sounds as they examined artefacts and displays. Participants included Year 9 and 10 History students and Senior Modern History students who all agreed that their knowledge and understanding was greatly enhanced by the experience.
