Microsoft Skills honed at school

8/06/2015

Shania is presented with her Microsoft IT Academy Certificate for becoming a Microsoft Specialist in PowerPoint by A/HOD Mrs Melissa Pascoe.

Stanthorpe State High School is a member of the Microsoft IT Academy Program.  This program enables us to give access to quality ICT training and resources to students to ensure that they have enhanced 21st century skills, purposeful engagement with the latest Microsoft applications and are positioned to take globally industry recognised certifications in ICT.

During the months of May and June we will be hosting an initiative called ‘Know IT Prove IT’. Open to all secondary students, they will have the opportunity to take an online learning course in Word, Excel and/or PowerPoint and prepare and take a Microsoft Office Specialist Certification. Each successfully completed exam awards the student with 1 credit point towards their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) as well. However, the real benefit is these courses not only assist them whilst at school, but prepare them for the workplace as Microsoft is used worldwide.
