Giant market is a school and community affair

14/10/2016
Giant market

Next weekend is the Giant Market at Stanthorpe State High School. This event is a learning environment for many of the students at the school. The Senior Tourism students are responsible for developing and staging the event as part of their Tourism certificate. The senior Hospitality students will be completing industry service periods while providing canteen and coffee cart menus for our customers. The Year 10 students are assisting with Kidzone – using their face painting and games skills developed at Under 8s Week. You may be looking for one of the terrific chook pens or dog kennels that the Construction students have made or some yummy jams and relishes that the Home Economic students produced using our own farm produce. You will find them at the Giant Market. All students who will be assisting are providing a community service which is a valuable personal experience for all young people. The P&C Association is very grateful to all students for their support of this event. All funds raised will go towards the redevelopment of the Canteen and the Quadrangle. The P&C Association is looking for support from the local community to come along for the day. There is a Giant Trash and Treasure where a bargain can be found amongst the new and used items. The Bookfair will give customers a huge range of books to choose from. Stallholders will offer crafts, fresh fruit and veges, homebake, plants and fresh flowers. There will be a multidraw raffle with some terrific prizes. Find the balloons along McGlew Street and walk up to the Top Undercover stadium on the school grounds. See you there this Saturday 22 October.
